Photographic installation, C – print, Diasec, 130 x 100 cm, 6 neon lights

A transparent photo of religious figurines in a Naples window display hangs before six neon lights that randomly switch on and off. The stroboscopic-like lighting of the installation creates the effect of a primitive cinema in a fairground stand, where the only movement is provided by the flickering neons. Behind the game of perception, Ex-voto is an attempt to reveal fears, beliefs and the magnetic pull harbored within the comforting figure of the plastic virgin.
