At dusk, a motion picture lighting balloon rigged to a system of winches and ropes moves through the 140-meter spire of the Strasbourg cathedral. It floats through the gothic masterpiece, temporarily transforming it into a giant lantern. The balloon looks like a toy mislaid on an oversized, archaic playing field. Angelu(s)x offers a means of combining the mysticism of the early Rhineland inhabitants and the machinery of contemporary entertainment into one single expression.
